Kaneohe NAS

Felt rather funny waking up as a guest in someone’s house with only swimming trunks and an Aloha shirt for apparel. Not even any shoes or sandals. Didn’t dare go down into the Waikiki district last night without my uniform on. So Patu’s was the only solution.

Got Patu a lei for her birthday. The Young Hotel Flower Shop make some very beautiful ones for $3.00. Went down to the Halekulani to get some clothes on.

Wally Jones and I later went back up to Patu’s for an informal birthday party and dinner. Good party and quite a few guests. Beeza, Patu, Wally, and I, finally turned in around 11 for the night.

Beeza (Alice Castle MacIntosh) is absolutely one of the most fascinating girls I’ve ever met. Too bad she’s married and has a child. I wish she had a younger sister. Beeza is beautiful, widely traveled, talented, and lover of sports and animals, and comes from one of Hawaii’s oldest families. I’m always late.
