Halekulani Hotel

Wally and I had to have a few drinks to get ourselves going this morning. Vandermade left for work without shaving for fear of cutting himself, and Beeza and Patu showed up moaning. We all went for a swim and then had breakfast.

B. Thompson was very pleasant. Perhaps last night did her little good. As one of the towns “queens” I’ll bet she hasn’t had such a rough handling since long before the war.

Wally drove us over to see Beeza take the plane to Maui (for Xmas week). Made it despite low gas and very bad tires. Lay around recuperating until Patu took me back to Kaneohe.
