Formation bombing again this morning with “Biscuit.” Pretty fair.

Did a stack of my own laundry after lunch and then went out on another free gunnery hop.

Three more Army B-17 pilots (one a major) over again this evening. Some more very interesting and valuable dope. Turned out that it was the Major‘s B-17 the Cooper shot up at Midway!

The Japs are building fields like mad in the Solomons, the most amazing of which is Munda. It was built in a coconut grove without cutting down the trees. When it was all completed, the trees were cut down and operations began immediately.
