Pearl Harbor

Uneventful. Cooper, and my roommate Ortwin,  returned today from Midway. They went up on the sixth of June for three- or four-day stay — and just got back after 22 days. Good old Navy. Ortwin is chock full of stories of “battle” and “post-battle” of Midway. Shall have to wait until he returns from his five days’ leave in town to get all the dope from him.

Incidentally, they brought back a live gooney bird from Midway. As it is still rather young, it just sits around and doesn’t try to fly.
