Nouméa, New Caledonia

Took Burke down to Nouméa today. As he was 10 minutes late for takeoff I gave him a thorough sandblasting with the props as he attempted to get into the plane.

Stayed at the Admiral’s house in Kitchell’s room. Burke also on Stassen’s invitation. Had Diane over for some powerful cocktails and we all went to dinner at Quonset Village. Diane and I saw “Song of Bernadette” later. The moon was wrong. Suffered a 3 a.m. crash in Kitchell’s wheeled bed!
