“Button,” Espiritu Santo

Were all awakened last night by the crash of falling trees (rotten) in a high wind. One fell very close to our hut and spurred the skipper into ordering the remaining surrounding “towers of decay” cut down today. The whole day was punctuated by the crash of falling trees.
