“Button,” Espiritu Santo

Take off for patrol this morning delayed by the ceaseless deluge (48 hours). Was turned back about an hour after takeoff by the foul weather. Returned to Button, and spent the day reading Time and Harpers, both excellent magazines. Reader’s Digest seems to be getting to be more of a “goody-goody” magazine all the time; some of its articles are nauseating in their rah-rah, rose-colored glasses, attitude.
