North Pacific

Have just finished a truly magnificent book which has moved me deeply – “Wind, Sand and Stars” by Antoine de Saint Exupèry. His words have the beauty of song and his thoughts like momentary glimpses of the bottom of a crystal pool, bring us a bit closer to the great truth toward which man is been striving these millenniums. There is a connection, however vague, between some of his ideas and some expressed by Bunborg in his book. Both sense the same thing, the poet and the physicist.

Tomorrow should find us back in the U.S. (by the grace of God and the Mikado). Somehow, I can’t say I’m any too happy to be back. I feel as though I’ve been cheated, or have missed something – what, I don’t know, although I have a suspicion – only time will tell.
