Barbers Point NAS

Soloed the “PB4Y-1” (B-24) for three hours this morning. Savio is my second pilot and Adams is third pilot and navigator. Saw another crackup take place over at Ewa Field. Another SBD afire with a bomb and no one would touch it until it had just about burned itself out.

Chased a PBY from Kaneohe for a while, just to make him feel “inferior.”

Listened to Gibby Gibson (Greenwich, Conn.) discourse on life in Hanover, VT, where he went to Dartmouth College. It was very interesting, especially some of his incredible tales about the native New Englanders in that sector. The school seems to turn out a much better type person than any of the big three (Harvard, Yale, Princeton). Wally Jones also went to Dartmouth.
