Force moved into Munda this afternoon and evening to batter it into “disuse.” Planes worked it over all afternoon, and a task force from here turned to on it that evening. This dope is still confidential.

Out on a formation bombing hop this morning, after which F4Fs from the Enterprise gave us a working over. Free gunnery hop on a PBY towed sleeve this afternoon.

The weather here is pretty hot but luckily the humidity is not too high. No mosquitoes to speak of but millions of small, extremely annoying, flies.

Three Army B-17 pilots were over this evening to give us the dope on the operations around the Solomons. Very interestIng chaps with plenty of good information.
