Finished a truly fine historical novel, “Final Hosting” by Patrick Welch. A story of Ireland, after the First World War, during the forming of the Republic. It presents with beauty and understanding both sides of the bloody fighting with, first, the British Government, and later the Irregular Irish Republican Army. The story contains many fine bits of Gaelic lore and verse. Must get it, among the hundreds of others, for my library. (Stokes, 1940)
