“Cactus,” Carney Field, Guadalcanal

MacArthur, the “Little Napoleon” (so termed by Adm. Fitch) moved into the Admiralties yesterday to the complete surprise of the SoPac commands. Doug must have felt the need for little publicity to offset Nimitz. Anyway his move caught everyone by surprise and nullified months of planning work in this command. Are we all fighting the same war? 

However, I do agree with MacArthur in that he was the only one who took real advantage of the Truk affair. With proper planning it seems to me that we should all have moved further into Jap territory during their embarrassment.
