Barbers Point NAS

Rained heavily most of the night and all morning. Streets near the Honolulu Advertiser Building were flooded in about 2 ft. of water. Cars and buses stalled and traffic fairly tied up. Stayed at the hotel all day. Worked on complicated Japanese jigsaw puzzle most of the morning and read most of the afternoon. No swimming due to rotten weather and bad back.

Modest birthday celebration for Jim Vandermade. Later he and I went to out to Robinson’s for the evening. All hands stoned.
